San Diego & CHP Officers Arrest Suspect for Theft of Saturn SL, Possession of Controlled Substance

On May 25, 2012, the owner of a Saturn SL reported the vehicle stolen to the San Diego Police Department. After verifying the theft, San Diego officers had the Saturn’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers, which activated the LoJack transponder concealed within the vehicle.
A short time later, officers with the San Diego Police Department and California Highway Patrol ISU investigators received the Saturn’s silent LoJack homing signal on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their police vehicles. Following the directional and audible signals on the LoJack Trackers, the officers located the stolen Saturn abandoned in a hotel parking lot. A few minutes later, police observed a suspect driving away in the vehicle. CHP investigators again tracked the Saturn, approached the suspect and arrested him for auto theft and possession of controlled substance.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Saturn SL at the former owner’s request.
