San Diego Ground & Air Officers Quickly Recover Stolen Audi A4, Undamage

When the owner of a 2008 Audi A4 discovered that the vehicle had been stolen on the afternoon of May 11, he immediately reported the theft to the San Diego Police Department.
San Diego officers verified the theft and completed a stolen vehicle report, then had the Audi’s information entered into the state and federal crime computer databases. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle, prompting it to begin emitting a silent homing signal. Neither the owner nor law enforcement agents had to do anything else to activate the LoJack network, as LoJack’s interface with the police is both seamless and instantaneous.
Within hours, San Diego ground and air units began to pick up the Audi’s homing signals on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) installed in their patrol car and helicopter. Following the directional signal cues on the PTC, the officers tracked and located the Audi near the 3600 block of Park Avenue. The Audi A4 was recovered abandoned and undamaged.
The current owner was happy that his Audi A4 had been installed with a LoJack Vehicle Recovery System four years ago. He was happier still that when the police called him to pick up his vehicle, it was undamaged.
