LoJack Enables Quick Recovery of Lexus LS350 Stolen in San Diego

When the owner of a 2006 Lexus LS350 discovered that the vehicle had been stolen, he reported the theft to the San Diego Police Department. After compiling a stolen vehicle report, the responding officer had the Lexus’ information entered into the state and federal crime computer systems. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle. Neither the owners nor law enforcement agents had to take any further action to initiate the police’s tracking of the vehicle, as LoJack’s interface with the police is both seamless and instantaneous.
Two hours later, San Diego Police ground units began to pick up the Lexus’ silent LoJack homing signal on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) installed in their patrol vehicle. Following the directional and signal strength cues from the PTC, the officers tracked and located the Lexus near the 800 block of Emerald Street. The Lexus was abandoned, and was quickly recovered by the officers.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Lexus four years ago by a previous owner. The current owner was thrilled that the vehicle had a LoJack system, and was even happier to learn that his vehicle was recovered undamaged and able to be driven home.
