Toyota Corolla Stolen and Recovered in Chula Vista, Undamaged

When the owner of a 2006 Toyota Corolla discovered that his vehicle had been stolen on January 14, 2012, he reported the theft to the Chula Vista Police Department. After the police department completed a stolen vehicle report, they had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Corolla, and initiated the police’s tracking of the vehicle.
A short while later, officers with the Chula Vista Police Department began to pick up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Corolla on their LoJack Police Tracking Computer installed in their patrol car. Following the computer’s cues, they the officers located the Corolla, parked and abandoned, in the 600 block of Sierra Way. The police recovered the undamaged vehicle and notified the grateful owner, who responded to the scene and drove the vehicle home.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Toyota Corolla five years earlier, in December 2005, in Lemon Grove, California.
