Cadillac Escalade Stolen & Recovered Using LoJack for 2nd Time in 5 Years

On the morning of December 28, 2011, the owner of a 2006 Cadillac Escalade contacted the Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Division to report the vehicle stolen.  

LAPD responded to the scene, prepared a stolen vehicle report and had the stolen Cadillac’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Cadillac and initiated the tracking of the vehicle.

Forty five minutes later, deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department’s Century Station picked up the LoJack signal from the victim’s stolen 2006 Cadillac Escalade on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their vehicles. Following the computer’s cues, they tracked and located the Escalade, unoccupied and parked on the street. The Cadillac had not been stripped or sustained any damage in the theft. The police recovered the vehicle and notified the owner.

This is the second time the Cadillac has been stolen and recovered utilizing LoJack since 2006.
