El Cajon Police Quickly Recover Lincoln Navigator Stolen in San Diego

In the early morning hours of January 10, 2012, the owner of a 2002 Lincoln Navigator contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report the vehicle stolen.
Police responded to the scene, prepared a stolen vehicle report and had the stolen Lincoln’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Lincoln and initiated the tracking of the vehicle.
Five minutes later, El Cajon Police officers began receiving the silent homing signals from the stolen Lincoln Navigator on their onboard LoJack Police Tracking Computers. Following the computer cues, the officers tracked the stolen vehicle to a residential area of El Cajon, where they located the Lincoln parked and abandoned on East Madison Street. The Lincoln Navigator was recovered intact, undamaged, and was returned to the owner at the scene by El Cajon Police.
