The owners of a 2006 Chevrolet Express Van contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to report their vehicle was stolen. A new car dealership installed a LoJack® System in this Dodge Challenger as part of a preinstall program. The program enhances sales and also provides an added measure of asset security while vehicles are on the dealership lot. The dealership was the victim of three fraudulent transactions by the same suspect on the same day.

A local Dodge dealer contacted the TRAP unit to report that their Dodge Challenger was stolen by a female utilizing a false Social Security Number (SSN) to purchase the vehicle.  After attempts to contact this individual failed, Task Force Detectives were called.  TRAP detectives verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state
