On the evening of January 24, 2013, the victim discovered her 2012 Honda was stolen and reported the theft to the Stockton Police Department. The vehicle information was entered into the California Stolen Vehicle System as well as the national system, NCIC. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle. 

The owner of a 2012 Honda Civic LX contacted the Baltimore County Police Department to report the vehicle stolen from the 1000 block of Camberly Circle in Baltimore County, Maryland on February 23, 2012. The officer responded to the scene, and after conducting a preliminary investigation and obtaining all the vehicle’s information, completed a vehicle theft
