On May 9, 2012, the owner of a 2003 Mercedes Benz parked and locked his vehicle on the street where he lives in Lindenhurst, Long Island, in Suffolk County. When he returned for it, he found it missing and immediately called the New York Police Department’s 5th Precinct, Suffolk County. NYPD officers verified the theft

On the morning of March 4, 2012, the owner of a 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-500 contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report the vehicle stolen from the 600 block of North Potomac Street in Baltimore City. The responding officer conducted a preliminary investigation and after obtaining all the vehicle information, completed a vehicle theft report.
