It was almost noon on a recent Friday when the Las Vegas, NV residents in this case noticed their Audi A4 missing from their residence. Thanks to the excellent work of local law enforcement, with help from the LoJack® system installed inside the car, it was recovered in less than a half hour after activation.

On April 18th, 2014, the Audi’s owners contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the A4, which was installed at Longo Toyota in El Monte, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, a canine officer with the LVMP and a trooper with the Nevada Highway Patrol picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Audi was located at a gas station near South Las Vegas Boulevard and Russell Road. As the vehicle attempted to leave, the officers performed a traffic stop and took the driver into custody. The undamaged A4 was retrieved and soon returned to its happy owner.
