In this case, a 2012 Terex skid steer front loader was discovered missing from a construction site in San Antonio, TX on a recent Friday morning. The owners of the machine were smart enough to protect this asset with the LoJack® system. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered the skid steer later that same day.

On April 4th, 2014, the lead foreman at the site contacted the San Antonio police department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the equipment information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the skid steer.

A short while later, officers from San Antonio PD patrol and the Auto Crimes Task Force picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen machine on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Terax was located in a rural farm area on the west side of town, where it was hidden in a large grove of trees. The skid steer was retrieved and soon returned to the construction site.
