This case is a great example of teamwork. A Honda Accord stolen in Houston, TX and is recovered in Giddings, TX, with the help of Giddings Police, Texas State Troopers and the LoJack® system.

On March 9th, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Houston Police Department and reported that his car was stolen from its assigned spot at his apartment complex. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Vandergriff Honda in Arlington, TX.

A while later, the flight crew of a Texas State Police picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their airship.  A TSP ground unit quickly located the Honda parked at an apartment complex in Giddings. Giddings PD set up surveillance and saw four suspects enter the vehicle and drive onto a public street. Giddings officers and TSP troopers stopped the car and arrested the four without incident. The Accord was retrieved and returned to its thankful owner.
