The Jersey City, NJ resident in this case discovered his Ford Mustang missing from his residence just after 1 pm on a Tuesday. This victim was really glad that he had a LoJack® system installed when he purchased his car. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered his Mustang safely and returned it to him.

On February 11th, 2014, the Ford’s owner contacted Jersey City PD to report his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Mustang, which was installed at J & S Ford in Jersey City, NJ, was then automatically activated.

A while later, officers from NYPD’s 110th precinct picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Ford, parked and unoccupied, on a residential street in Queens. After a brief surveillance, a man approached the car, opened the door and was immediately arrested. The Mustang was retrieved and soon returned to its extremely happy owner.
