It was a cold January morning in San Jose, CA, and the owner of a 2013 Honda Civic SI started his car to warm it up before he left for work, then left it unlocked and went back into his home. Unfortunately, his vehicle left before he did, with a thief at the wheel. It had only been six months since this victim had purchased the Civic and had the LoJack® system installed. This decision proved to be a smart one because, with LoJack’s assistance, the car was recovered in just 75 minutes after activation.

On January 16th, 2014, the Honda’s owner reported his vehicle stolen to San Jose Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Honda of Stevens Creek in San Jose, CA.

Just over an hour later, San Jose PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Officers located the Honda parked and abandoned on a side street. The Civic was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
