The owner of the Buick Lucerne in the case was shocked to discover his car missing from his Tulsa, OK driveway just after 9:30 p.m. on a recent Saturday night. It’s a good thing that this victim chose to have the LoJack® system installed when he purchased his vehicle. His local law enforcement, with an assist from LoJack, retrieved the Lucerne in less than 90 minutes after activation.

On January 4th, 2014, the Buick’s owner contacted the Tulsa Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Lucerne, which was installed at Enterprise Car Sales in Tulsa, OK.

A short while later, a pilot with the Tulsa PD Air Support Unit picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his helicopter. The flight crew located the Buick in a motel lot on W. Shelly Drive, where it was parked and unoccupied, and requested ground assistance.  Deputies with Tulsa County and Creek County Sheriff’s Departments assisted in the recovery.  The Lucerne was in excellent condition and was quickly returned to its happy owner.
