The California based owner of a Chevrolet Corvette was upset to discover his car missing from his residence one Monday evening.  Thanks to the efforts of his local police, with help from the LoJack® System, he didn’t have long to worry, because his vehicle was recovered in just three hours after activation.

On December 16th, 2013, the Chevy’s owners contacted the Orange County Sheriff’s Department to report their vehicle was stolen.  Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Corvette, which was installed at Cormier Chevrolet in Long Beach, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department picked up homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies requested the assistance of OCSD helicopter Duke 1. The flight crew located the vehicle traveling on the 22 freeway in Santa Ana.  With the assistance of a Garden Grove patrol officer, the Chevy was stopped and the driver and passenger arrested. The Corvette was soon returned to its thankful owner, who told police this was the second incident in three months that his car had been stolen and recovered using LoJack.
