Three days before Christmas, the owner of a Honda Civic in San Jose, CA went to the mall for some last minute shopping.  When he finished his errands, he exited the mall to discover his car had been stolen. It was a previous purchase- the LoJack® system he had installed when buying his Civic- that saved the day in this situation. With LoJack’s help, local police were able to recover the vehicle in less than an hour after activation.

On December 22nd, 2013, the Honda’s owner reported the theft to the San Jose Police. Officers verified the crime information and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Herb Chambers Honda in Boston, MA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, Sunnyvale Police picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the Honda and found it driving in traffic.  Officers initiated a vehicle stop and arrested the driver.  The owner of the undamaged Honda was thrilled to have his car returned so soon.
