The Southern California residents vacationing in Las Vegas, NV, may have expected to lose a little money in the casinos, but not their Jaguar S-Series from the motel parking lot. The vehicle owners knew they had made the right move by having the LoJack® system installed when they purchased their car because, with LoJack’s assistance, local police were able to recover it in just over an hour and a half after activation.

On December 12th, 2013, the Jag’s owners couldn’t find their keys, and then discovered the vehicle was missing. They immediately contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and a theft report was filed.  After verifying the theft, officers entered the stolen vehicle information into the NCIC Stolen Vehicle System. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the S-Series, which was installed at Cush Jaguar in San Diego, CA.

A short while later, officers with the LVMP Downtown Area Command began picking up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers quickly tracked the Jag to a casino lot, where it was parked and abandoned. The S-Series was soon returned to its very thankful owners.
