The owner of the 2011 Toyota Camry in this case was at a San Jose, CA mall on a recent Friday night, possibly getting some early holiday shopping done. Unfortunately, some thieves in the parking lot were ‘shopping’ as well, and helped themselves to our victim’s car. The LoJack® system installed when the Camry was purchased brought some relief to its owner, by helping local police recover the vehicle in less than two hours after activation.

On December 6th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner contacted San Jose Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Camry, which was installed at Fremont Toyota in Fremont, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, San Jose Police and Santa Clara Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Toyota was located while moving, and a traffic stop was performed. The driver and passenger were arrested and the undamaged Camry was soon returned to its thankful owner.
