The purpose of the LoJack® system is to recover stolen cars, trucks, vans, motorcycles and construction equipment quickly and safely. The owner of the Ford Focus in this case found out how effective our product is when his car was taken and then recovered in only 18 minutes after activation by local law enforcement assisted by LoJack.

On December 6th, 2013, the Ford’s owner contacted Oakland Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Focus, which was installed at The Ford Store in San Leandro, CA.

A few minutes later, Oakland PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the stolen Ford in a lot in South Oakland, where it was parked and abandoned.   The owner of the undamaged Focus was thrilled to have his car returned to him in such a short time.
