When the Sacramento, CA resident in this case arrived home from vacation, he discovered his Land Rover Range Rover had been stolen from his home while he was gone. The LoJack® system that was installed when the SUV was purchased proved to be a great investment because, with LoJack’s help, local police were able to recover the vehicle in just three minutes after activation.

On November 26th, 2013, the Land Rover’s owner contacted the California Highway Patrol and reported the crime. Troopers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the California Stolen Vehicle System as well as the NCIC national system. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Range Rover, which was installed at Park Place Jaguar in Houston, TX.

A few minutes later, officers with the Fairfield Police Department began to receive the homing signal from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Land Rover was spotted being driven and, after a short pursuit, a traffic stop was performed and the driver and  passenger were taken into custody. The Range Rover was recovered and soon returned to its grateful owner.
