When these Fayetteville, NC residents discovered their Jeep Wrangler had been stolen from their driveway on Thanksgiving, it’s a sure bet they were grateful there was a LoJack® system installed in their SUV, so local police were able to recover it quickly and safely.

On November 28th, 2013, the Jeep’s owner contacted the Fayetteville Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Wrangler, which was installed at Hendrick Chrysler-Jeep in Fayetteville, NC.

A short while later, inspectors from the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles License and Theft Bureau received the homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers in their patrol vehicles. The Jeep was located at a tow and storage lot, where it was taken after being abandoned on a rural road. The recovered Wrangler was soon returned to its thankful owners.
