Imagine walking out of your home on an early Monday morning to go to work and finding your vehicle missing. This happened recently to a Sacramento, CA resident when his Toyota Corolla was stolen overnight. Protecting his car with the LoJack® system proved to have been an excellent idea because his local police, assisted by LoJack, were able to recover his Corolla in just FIVE MINUTES after activation.

On November 25th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner reported the theft to the Sacramento Sheriffs’ Department. The vehicle information was entered into the California Stolen Vehicle System as well as the NCIC national system. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Corolla, which was installed at Camelback Toyota in Phoenix, AZ.

Just a few minutes later, deputies from the Sacramento SD began to receive the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies tracked the Toyota to the area of Andante and Katella streets in Roseville, where they found it parked at the curb and abandoned. After a brief surveillance, the Corolla was recovered and soon returned to its happy owner.
