The Saturn SL in this case had already been stolen and recovered once before by police assisted by the LoJack® system. When the owner discovered the car had been taken overnight from his Las Vegas residence, he called local law enforcement right away in hopes that LoJack would come through again- and it did, helping the local PD recover the SL in less than 90 minutes after activation.

On September 9th, 2013, the Saturn owner contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and a theft report was filed.  After verifying the theft, officers entered the stolen vehicle information into the NCIC Stolen Vehicle System. This action automatically activated the hidden LoJack device in the SL, which was installed at Saturn of Monrovia, CA.

A short while later, officers with the LVMPD Bolden Area Command began picking up the homing signal with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol cars.  The officers tracked the vehicle into a neighborhood near Edmond and El Parque, where they found the Saturn parked and abandoned. The undamaged SL was soon returned to its relieved owner. This was the second time the car had been stolen and then recovered by law enforcement assisted by LoJack.
