This case involves a Lexus G43 that was stolen from a service center. Although the business was equipped with security cameras, it took the assistance of the LoJack® system to help local law enforcement retrieve the G43 in just 10 minutes after activation.

On October 23rd, 2013, the owner of the Lexus contacted the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department-Camarillo Station to report the crime. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack concealed in the G43, which was installed at Vista Lexus in Woodland Hills, CA.

A few minutes later, investigators from the California Highway Patrol VenCATT (Ventura County Auto Theft Task Force) picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The investigators tracked the Lexus and found it parked and unoccupied at an apartment complex. The recovered G43 was soon returned to its relieved owner.
