Ford pickup trucks are a popular target fort vehicle thieves, so it was a smart move on the part of this Irving, TX resident to install the LoJack® system on his Ford F-250. When his local police used LoJack to track it down after it was stolen, not only did they recover the truck in less than three hours after activation, they also discovered an illegal stolen parts business as well.

On September 25th, 2013, the Ford’s owner contacted the Irving Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the F-250, which was installed at Brandon Ford in Tampa, FL, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to a private home and determined that it was in the backyard behind a tall wooden fence. Along with the Ford, they also found a stolen Dodge pickup and parts from another stolen Ford truck. The F-250 was soon returned to its grateful owner.
