The Kendall, FL resident in this case was shocked to find his 2008 Scion tC missing from his own driveway one Wednesday morning. It’s a good thing he had the LoJack® system installed when he bought his car, because, with LoJack’s help, local law enforcement could track it down in just 29 minutes after activation.

On September 11th, 2013, the Scion’s owner contacted the Miami-Dade Police to report the theft. Officers prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the tC, which was installed at Headquarter Toyota in Miami, FL.

A short while later, a Doral PD officer picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer located the Scion parked and abandoned in an apartment complex lot nearby. The owner was delighted to have his tC returned to him in such a short period of time.
