The last thing this San Diego resident was expecting on the day before the Fourth of July was to have his Honda Civic EX stolen. He was able to avoid further emotional fireworks because he had a LoJack® system installed in his vehicle, so local police were able to recover it for him in just two hours.

On July 3rd, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted the San Diego Police Department to report his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device, which was installed at Diamond Honda of Puente Hills in City of Industry CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, deputies from San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signals from the Civic EX on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies tracked the vehicle to a residential area near Camino Canada in El Cajon, where it was found parked and abandoned. The owner was very happy to have his Honda returned to him.
