In this case, ground and air units from the Los Angeles, CA Sheriff’s Department combine forces to track and recover a stolen Chrysler Town & Country minivan in less than two hours after activation.

On August 2nd, 2013, the Chrysler’s owners contacted Azusa Police to report their vehicle had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the town & country, which was installed at Glendora Dodge in Glendora, CA.

A short while later, LASD Air-7 flight deputies picked up the homing signal from the Chrysler on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their aircraft. After alerting ground units from San Dimas Sheriff Station, Air-7 continued tracking the van to Newburgh and Azusa Ave., where it pulled into the parking lot at an apartment complex. Ground deputies arrived and arrested the suspect. The Town & Country was soon returned to its very relieved owners.
