The LoJack® System Helps Riverside County, California Sheriff’s Department with Recovery of Stolen Honda Accord

The Riverside, CA resident in this case has his Saturday afternoon disrupted when his Honda Accord was stolen from his home. The LoJack® system, which he had installed when he purchased his car, made the situation a little less stressful by helping his local police track down and recover the Honda in just a few hours that same day.

On July 6th, 2013, the Accord’s owner contacted Riverside Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. Riverside PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Honda, which was installed at Power Honda in Costa Mesa, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department-  Jurupa Valley Substation picked up the homing signals from the Accord on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies tracked the Honda to a residential area in Jurupa Valley.   Four males and a female were observed inside the Honda. A traffic stop was made and all five occupants were taken into custody. The undamaged Accord was soon returned to its very grateful owner.
