The San Francisco, CA resident in this case had the inconvenient experience of having his 2009 Toyota Corolla stolen from a convenience store parking lot.  Thanks to his local police and the LoJack® system, the car was recovered in less than 90 minutes after activation, making the inconvenience not too great.

On July 2nd, 2013, the Corolla’s owner of a 2009 Toyota Corolla discovered his vehicle stolen from a convenience store parking lot in the Mission District of San Francisco.  SFPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Corolla, which was installed at City Toyota in Daly City, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, San Francisco Police picked up the homing signals from the Toyota on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the stolen car in the Sunset District, where it was found parked and abandoned. The owner of the undamaged Toyota was thrilled that it was recovered so quickly.
