Management at a home improvement store in Glendale, Arizona, was worried when one of their rental trucks was not returned on time. They did not have to worry too long, though, because the Ford F-350 in this case had the LoJack® system installed, so local police were able to track it down in only 74 minutes!

The store’s staff contacted Glendale Police on April 27th, 2013. A customer had rented the flatbed for a one hour period the previous day and never returned it. The police verified the theft and entered the stolen vehicle information into the local and national crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the vehicle.

A short while later, a Mesa, AZ police helicopter began picking up the homing signal from the stolen truck with the onboard LoJack tracking computer. It was tracked to Tempe, where Arizona DPS (Department of Public Safety) officers located the Ford parked and abandoned. The F-350 was soon returned to the store.
