The suspect in our next case wasn’t too concerned about being apprehended by law enforcement when he parked the BMW 325 he had just stolen outside an area business. It was a big surprise to him when the local police entered and apprehended him just one hour and 43 minutes after the BMW’s LoJack® system was activated, and a big relief to the car’s owner as well.

On May 7th, 2013, the 325’s owner contacted the Metro Nashville PD to report that her vehicle had been stolen. The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the 325, which was installed at Nelson Mazda in Nashville, TN.

A short while later, La Vergne, TN police officers picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicle.  The officers tracked the vehicle to the parking lot of a local business. The suspect, who already had an active warrant, was found inside and arrested. The 325 was soon returned to its happy owner.
