What’s colder than getting into your car on a chilly March morning? How about seeing a thief drive your vehicle away from your own driveway? Luckily, the LoJack® system gave this frigid tale a warm and happy ending!

On Friday March 15th 2013, the owner of a 2009 Kia Spectra started her car to warm it up, but as she turned to go back inside into her home, she saw someone enter her car and drive off.  She immediately called Philadelphia Police to report the incident. The assigned officer entered a stolen vehicle report in the police computer, which automatically activated the hidden LoJack unit in her Spectra, which was installed at Enterprise Auto Sales in Lester, PA.

A few minutes after activation, officers from the Philadelphia Police 12th District picked up the homing signals from the stolen Kia on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicle, and were able to track the signal into the Borough of Yeadon and subsequently to the parking lot of a large apartment complex. The vehicle was found unoccupied and undamaged, and was quickly returned to its owner.
