LoJack Helps DC Metropolitan Police Recover Stolen Toyota Camry, Suspect Arrested

On February 10, 2013 the owner of a 2007 Toyota Camry contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the 2700 block of Winchester Avenue in Baltimore, Maryland.

Baltimore City Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Toyota

A short while later, officers from the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Toyota Camry on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers the officers tracked the vehicle to the 1100 block of Eaton Road SE in Washington, DC. There, the officers located the occupied vehicle. The driver was arrested and the vehicle recovered by police.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Toyota in July of 2007 at DARCARS Toyota.
