LoJack Helps Phoenix Police Department Recover Yukon Stolen in Burglary, Suspect Arrested

On December 29, 2012, the owner of a 2003 GMC Yukon came home to find that his residence had been burglarized and his vehicle stolen. He immediately contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report the crime.
Phoenix Police confirmed the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computer. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle. Neither the owners nor law enforcement had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery Network because LoJack’s interface with law enforcement is both seamless and instantaneous.
A short time later, Phoenix Police officers from the Cactus Park Precinct, while on routine patrol, began picking up the silent LoJack homing signal from the stolen Yukon with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their police vehicle. Following the directional and signal strength cues on the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the Yukon to the 2500 block of West Thunderbird Road. There, the patrol officers observed the stolen Yukon at a gas station with one suspect in the vehicle. Officers moved in and safely arrested the suspect. Also recovered were items taken in the burglary. The owner was glad they had protected the Yukon with LoJack!
The LoJack Recovery System was installed in the GMC Yukon in December of 2003 by Land Rover North Scottsdale.
