LoJack Helps Las Vegas Police Recover Stolen Cadillac Escalade

On January 7, 2013 the owners of a 2007 Cadillac Escalade contacted the North Las Vegas Police Department to report their SUV was stolen sometime during the early afternoon hours while parked near their home in 3300 block of Mount Skies Court, North Las Vegas. The North Las Vegas Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated a hidden LoJack transponder in the Escalade.

A short while later, officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s “Bolden Area Command” picked up the SUV’s silent LoJack signals on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles near Rancho Drive and Lake Mead.  Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the stolen Escalade to a residential neighborhood near Bronco & Madre Mesa in Las Vegas.

The Cadillac Escalade was located intact over 5 miles away from where it had been taken, 91 minutesafter being activated by the North Las Vegas Police.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Cadillac Escalade on March 14, 2007 by Findlay Cadillac in Henderson, Nevada.
