LoJack Assists San Jose Police with Recovery of Stolen Ford F150 Pickup, Arrest of One Suspect

On November 19, 2012, the owner of 2004 Ford F150 Heritage Ltd truck had his vehicle stolen from the street in San Jose, California.
San Jose Police verified the crime information and entered the Ford’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the pickup truck. LoJack is the only theft recovery system that is directly operated by law enforcement and this interface is seamless and instantaneous.
A short while later, officers with the San Jose Police picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in their patrol vehicles and aircraft. The LoJack PTC provides officers with on-board information which permits them to locate the stolen vehicle quickly and with an increased margin of safety.
Following the directional and signal strength cues from the LoJack computers, the officers stopped the stolen truck in south San Jose and arrested the driver. The undamaged F150 was returned to the owner.
