Dodge Ram, Stolen in Suisun, Recovered by Fairfield Police Using LoJack

On the morning of September 24, 2012, the owner of a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck contacted the Suisun Police Department to report that the truck was stolen sometime during the previous night. Suisun Police verified the theft and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the pickup truck.
A short while later, officers with the Fairfield Police Department and an officer from the Vacaville Police Department on his way to court, both began to receive the silent signal from the stolen Dodge. The officers used their onboard LoJack Police Tracking Computers, and the directional and signal strength cues they provide to track the silent LoJack signal emitting from the stolen Dodge. Within minutes, the officers tracked and located the vehicle in a residential area near Redondo and Mosswood Streets in Fairfield. The vehicle, valued at $16,000, was recovered intact, and the owner was contacted to retrieve the vehicle.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Dodge Ram pickup truck at Razzari Ford-Merced in February of 2012.
