LoJack Aids Atlanta Police in Recovery of Stolen Honda Accord & 2 Other Stolen Hondas, Parts

On August 2, 2012, the owner of a 2010 Honda Accord contacted the Atlanta Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a restaurant in the downtown area. The Atlanta Police verified the theft and entered the Honda’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.
A short while later, the Atlanta Police picked up the silent LoJack homing signal coming from the stolen Honda on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to a residence in Atlanta. There, they located the stolen Honda in excellent condition; in addition, they recovered two other vehicles that had been stolen the same night, and several car parts inside a storage building.
A detective was called to the scene to assist in recovering the stolen vehicles, identifying the parts, and assisting with two suspects at the scene. The other vehicles were a 2009 Honda Civic and a 2008 Honda Accord that had been stolen the day before from the Atlanta area. The detective estimated the value of the stolen vehicles and parts to be approximately $40,000.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the 2010 Honda on January 25, 2012 at Honda Mall of Georgia in Buford, Georgia.
