San Diego Police Quickly Recover Stolen Toyota Corolla with Help of LoJack

On July 21, 2012, the owner of a 2010 Toyota Corolla contacted the San Diego Police Department to report his vehicle stolen. San Diego Police verified the theft and entered the Toyota’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

A short while later, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Toyota Corolla on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 4400 block of Bancroft Street in San Diego.

The owner was very happy when the police contacted him to recover the vehicle, which was found abandoned and undamaged.  The vehicle was valued at approximately $14,900.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Toyota Corolla on January 2010 at Toyota of San Diego in San Diego.
