On July 25, 2012, the owner of a Jeep Cherokee contacted the New Castle County Police Department to report the vehicle stolen.  New Castle officers verified the theft and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the 1996 Jeep.

A short while later, an officer from the New Castle County Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Jeep on the Police Tracking Computers installed in the patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officer tracked the vehicle to the Wilmington, Delaware area, where he located the parked and unoccupied vehicle.  The incident remains under investigation by the New Castle County Police Department.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Jeep in November of 1996 at Woodbridge Jeep.
