LoJack System Helps North Las Vegas Police Department Recover Stolen Chevrolet Silverado within Minutes of Activation

The owners of a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report their vehicle stolen from the parking lot of a business near the intersection of Bonanza and Eastern.  The owners had parked and left the Chevrolet secured while shopping but when they returned to leave they found the Chevrolet missing so they notified the police. 

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

Eight minutes later officers from North Las Vegas Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the intersection of Arthur and Tonopah where they located the Chevrolet unoccupied and undamaged.  Officers recovered the Chevrolet and returned it back to the owners.  

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado in June 2005 at Cars Direct, El Segundo, California.
