LoJack System Helps Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Recover Stolen Ford Mustang

The owner of a 2013 Ford Mustang contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report her vehicle stolen from the parking lot of a convenience store in the 3800 block of Blue Diamond. The owner was starting to pull out of the parking lot when several males staged an accident between her Ford and another vehicle. When she got out of her vehicle the males aggressively ordered her to go into the convenience store and retrieve money out of the ATM to pay for the damages. Fearing for her safety she ran into the store leaving her keys in the Mustang. While she was in the store at the ATM the males jumped into her car and both vehicles drove away. At this time the owner notified the police.
Las
Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and
federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.
A short while later officers from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department picked
up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police
Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and
aircraft. Following the directional and
audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a
residential address in the 9300 block of Glendora Valley where they located the
Ford unoccupied. The Ford was recovered
and towed for safekeeping.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Mustang in January 2014 at Friendly Ford, Las Vegas, Nevada.
