The
owners of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck returned to their vehicle from
shopping only to find it gone and broken glass on the pavement. They reported
the crime to the Pueblo Police Department and a police officer verified the
theft. The truck vehicle information was then entered into the state
and federal crime computers and it was this routine action that automatically
activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.
A short while later officer with the Pueblo Police Department picked up the
silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Silverado with the LoJack Police
Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and
aircraft.
Following the directional and audible cues from their PTCs the officers quickly tracked the stolen Chevrolet to the 1600 block of Genes Street just outside of the city in Pueblo County. The truck was found unoccupied.
Damage had been done to the truck but it was still drivable and was released to the happy owner’s on-scene.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado in Feb 2008 at Spradley Chevrolet, in Pueblo CO. at the request of the original owners.
