LoJack System Helps Boston Police Department Recover Stolen Honda Accord

The owners of a 2003 Honda Accord contacted the Boston Police Department to report that their vehicle stolen. The Boston Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Five minutes later officers from the Quincy Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Two minutes later, troopers from the Massachusetts State Police also picked up the signal and began to track the stolen Honda. 

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers from the Quincy Police Department were able to locate and recover the Honda unoccupied on a residential street in the North Quincy section of the city.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in August of 2003 at Bernardi Honda located in Natick, MA.
