LoJack System Helps Phoenix Police Department Recover Stolen Dodge Challenger Two in Custody

The
owners of a used car dealership contacted the Yuma Police Department to report
that a 2015 Dodge Challenger was stolen by fraudulent means. The suspect used a fraudulent check to make
the vehicle purchase. The Yuma Police
Department verified the theft and entered
the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which
automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed
in the Dodge.
Fifteen minutes later, officers and the air unit from the Phoenix Police
Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge with the
LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles
and aircraft. Following the directional
and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to area of
19th Avenue and Cactus Avenue in the Phoenix.
The
Phoenix Police Department officers located the stolen Dodge occupied and
detained two suspects without incident.
The vehicle was recovered in good condition and impounded for
safekeeping. Detectives from the Yuma
Police Department are conducting the investigation and felony charges are being
filed in Yuma County.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Challenger in October 2014, at Poway
Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, Poway, California.
