LoJack System Helps San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Recover Stolen Chevrolet Silverado

The owners of a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado contacted the Oceanside Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen in the city of Oceanside. Oceanside Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

At a later time, deputies from San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the vehicle to the 1800 block of Autumn Lane in the city of Vista.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado in February 2007 at Bob Stall Chevrolet, Escondido, California.
