The owners of a 2015 Subaru Outback contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen in the city of San Diego. San Diego Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Subaru.

At a later time, officers from San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Subaru with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 4600 block of El Cerrito Drive in the city of San Diego.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Subaru Outback in December 2014 at Subaru Mazda El Cajon, El Cajon, California.
