LoJack® System Helps Albuquerque Police Department Recover a Stolen Nissan Altima

The owner of a 2006 Nissan Altima contacted the Albuquerque Police Department to report their vehicle stolen.  The owner advised the Nissan stolen from where they parked it in the area of Martin Luther King and Interstate 25.  The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan Altima.

Approximately thirty minutes after the activation, officers with the Albuquerque PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan Altima with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in their patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the LoJack signal to the area of 86th and Central.

Officers located the stolen Altima parked in the parking lot of a business.  Officers discovered the Altima to be unoccupied.  The Altima was processed for evidence and the owner notified of the recovery.  The owner responded to the scene and took possession of the Altima before the offenders could use it to commit additional crimes.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Altima in April 2006 at Universal City Nissan in Los Angeles, California.
